The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) has been delivering some amazing performances in her latest storyline, which is forcing her to switch back and forth between some wild characters.
In the new issue of TV Guide, Eileen Davidson opened up about Ashley’s dissociative identity disorder and how much she’s loving this material.
This has been a real gift to Davidson as an actress since she loves the drama of it all!
Davidson is no stranger to pulling off multiple roles since it’s something she’s done in the past on Days of Our Lives.
However, it’s a little different in this case since Ashley is suffering from DID and is creating these alternate personalities to cope with her issues.
Davidson talked about making the differences subtle at first, but she hinted about each alter becoming bolder over time.
We also got confirmation that there are three alternate personalities involved here.
“Ash” is the one that seems like a teenager or a younger girl while “Ms. Abbott” is the more assertive one who’s been throwing herself at Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John).
There’s also a third alter that hasn’t been named yet, so it’ll be interesting to see what she’s like and what she’s capable of!
Although Davidson is doing a wonderful job balancing things as these alternate personalities, she admitted it’s been no easy task.
“It takes a lot of concentration,” Davidson confessed. “It makes my head hurt because it’s Ashley and then, sometimes mid-scene I’m becoming the alter, so I’m starting off as one and ending up as another who’s talking to someone else in her head.”
It’s definitely a complex situation, but Eileen Davidson is tackling this challenging Y&R storyline like the pro that she is.
Davidson also hinted about Ashley’s upcoming intervention, which will back “Ms. Abbott” into a corner and give this alter a chance to really unleash her fury on Ashley’s siblings.
Although Ashley is suffering right now, Davidson admitted she’s “having a great time” and seems eager to keep pushing herself with exciting stories like this one.
