As the Chiefs and 49ers descend upon Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII, the Sphere is set to be a big part of the week leading up to the Big Game. The world’s most viral entertainment venue is fresh off of its Grammy’s debut and underwent an incredibly cool overnight transformation.
Super Bowl week is here!
Where the focus on Sunday was on music’s biggest night, it shifted toward football’s biggest night on Monday morning. NFL insider Tom Pelissero shared a pair of images from outside of his hotel window.
The exosphere lit up to display two very accurate and detailed renderings of the helmets that will be worn on Sunday. They included all of the different vent holes and ridges, as well as the chinstrap buckles and facemasks.
There have been a lot of cool graphics displayed on The Sphere. These helmets, as simple as they are, might be the coolest.
Not long after the helmets came to exist, a second NFL display rolled out on the glowing orb of LED lights. It rolled out the red carpet for Patrick Mahomes!
This is only the beginning of what we will see from/on The Sphere this week. The NFL spent big money to make its mark on the Las Vegas skyline. CBS also plans to use the venue in its television broadcast leading up to and during the game on Sunday afternoon.
All of this is great news. The more we can get from The Sphere, the better— as long as it doesn’t make us (the viewers) extremely dizzy like U2’s performance at the Grammy’s.
This venue has been a constant topic of conversation since it first lit up in July. Social media continues to obsess over the Sphere. The NFL needs to make it a big piece!
