The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Krista Allen (Taylor Hayes) has confirmed her departure from the CBS soap. In a new interview with Deadline, Allen explained that her contract wasn’t renewed and that TPTB broke the news to her back in October.
It came as a surprise to Allen since she had just taken part in B&B’s official cast photoshoot. Shortly after that, Allen got a phone call and learned she’d been dropped from the show.
An inside source claims that Allen was offered the option to drop down to recurring and declined to take it.
However, a rep for Krista Allen frames it differently since she was apparently offered only a few lines in a single episode after months of not working at all.
Of course, Taylor was a huge part of the show when her love triangle with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) was in full swing, but her airtime dried up once that storyline ended.
Now Brooke is back together with Ridge, so it seems B&B doesn’t have much use for Taylor Hayes anymore.
“The show just said that my character wasn’t really needed,” Allen admitted in her interview.
Naturally, there are plenty of fans that disagree and have shown their support for Allen on social media. Taylor’s absence has been felt, especially since her kids are going through so much turmoil right now.
Many viewers have been speaking out about how Taylor would want to be there for Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) as they deal with Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) illness.
There are other dramatic possibilities that could come as Thomas and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) grow closer.
Taylor understandably had some reservations about that romance the last time fans heard from her, but now she’ll never have the chance to follow up on her concerns.
Krista Allen’s last episode aired on November 10, so that’ll have to serve as her final airdate.
Taylor will presumably have to go off and save the world again while her children and grandchildren carry on without her.
Although Allen was nominated for a Daytime Emmy, the show chose to push her aside.
Now Allen’s viewing this as an opportunity to start a new chapter, so she announced that she’s moving to Atlanta, Georgia.
