Apparently, dressing up in a hyper-realistic NFL uniform and going as Travis Kelce to the Eras Tour during Halloween weekend is a big no-no at Lucas Oil Stadium where the staff is probably tired of their team getting walloped by Kelce and the Chiefs…
A video has started to go viral showing a fan trying to get Travis Kelce’s attention, while dressed head-to-toe as Travis himself in a Kansas City Chiefs uniform, and security immediately descends on her with the intention of kicking her out of the concert. One of the older security guards puts his hand on the woman and tells his colleagues “she needs to go out” with ‘out’ meaning ‘kick her out of the building.
That was until Taylor Swift’s brother Austin Swift swooped in and cooler heads prevailed. Of course, people should know they can’t jump barriers at a concert and if they are dressed as a football player during a concert they should realize they can’t fly under the radar but it was great to see that reason prevailed after Taylor Swift‘s brother intervened:
Austin Swift immediately swooped in and asked the security guards to chill out. He asked that everyone “just calm down a little bit” and said it was “a little aggressive” for the old man to be shoving the girl like he was. Meanwhile, the girl is just standing there in a head-to-toe Travis Kelce costume like that’s a normal thing to be wearing to a concert.
Somehow, Austin Swift is able to entirely resolve the situation. He tells the girl that she’s wearing “a really cool costume” and informs the security guards that “we’re all good here” and I guess that’s the power of being Taylor Swift’s brother.
Full stop…It is extremely hard to imagine an interaction like this happening at any other concert tour in recent memory. If someone jumped over a barrier in full costume at another concert, regardless of age or gender, they’d be bounced in a heartbeat but not at the Eras Tour.
