Taylor Swift’s visit to a Missouri children’s hospital this week included a brief ― but notable ― allusion to her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce.
Fresh off her record-smashing Eras Tour, the pop superstar surprised many young patients and their families Thursday when she popped into Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Widely circulated photos and videos show Swift happily posing for pictures and signing autographs.
One of those clips shows Swift bonding with a patient who says she’s a big fan of Kelce’s.
“Yes, me too. That’s an absolute yes on that one,” the 14-time Grammy winner says to laughter as she signs a copy of an Eras Tour-related book.
Moments later, Swift gives the youngster extra kudos when she names Kelce, a Kansas City Chiefs tight end, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes as her favorite players.
“These are good answers,” Swift says. “You are acing this!”
After months of speculation, Kelce and Swift publicly confirmed their relationship last year. Since then, they’ve become one of Hollywood’s most-buzzed-about couples, with Kelce even joining Swift onstage during one of her Eras Tour concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium this summer.
Swift, however, has mostly avoided speaking about the romance in interviews. She made an exception while speaking to Time in late 2023, when she was named the magazine’s “Person of the Year.”
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she told the outlet. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
Swift, who turned 35 on Friday, has yet to announce her next project following the conclusion of the Eras Tour, which wrapped last weekend after 149 shows across five continents.

Still, it’s safe to say she left quite an impression after her Children’s Mercy visit.
“On top of her sheer beauty she was just as kind and personable and down to earth,” Melissa Nuzum, the mother of one patient, wrote on Facebook. “We have fan girled all morning! I even cried because it’s wonderful to see my girl smile so much knowing the pain she’s been in.”
