Stevie Nicks unveiled plans to drop a new box set covering her acclaimed solo work. The collection consists of eight studio albums and a rarities collection of hard-to-find tracks–only available through the impending release. The complete package is due on July 28 via Rhino. As a preview of what’s to come, Nicks shared a newly remastered version of “One More Big Time Rock and Roll Star.” Listen now.
The record company, in alignment with Nicks, presents Bella Donna (1981), The Wild Heart (1983), Rock a Little (1985), The Other Side of the Mirror (1989), Street Angel (1994), Trouble in Shangri-La (2001), In Your Dreams (2011), and 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault (2014). Amongst the aforementioned titles: Rock a Little, The Other Side of the Mirror, Street Angel, and Trouble in Shangri-La were all newly remastered from the analog masters for the mid-summer drop.
The rarities collection showcases 23 of Nicks’ best non-album tracks, including numerous contributions to film and television soundtracks, ranging from “Blue Lamp” from Heavy Metal, to “Free Fallin’” from Party of Five. Moreover, several B-sides are featured on the set, including the aforementioned “One More Big Time Rock And Roll Star,” released today, and the flipside to her 1985 hit, “Talk To Me.”
A trio of songs originally released via Nicks’ 1991 hits collection Timespace also come up, including “Love’s A Hard Game To Play.” The collection sends the listener off with the musician’s 2022 reinterpretation of the Buffalo Springfield classic “For What It’s Worth.” As a complete package, the set cement Nicks longevity as a solo artist, which steams back to her 1981 debut, which arrived after her initial success alongside Fleetwood Mac.
