It’s become a bit of a tradition these past couple of years for Lucasfilm to drop a new series on Disney+ of Star Wars shorts on May the 4th. First came Tales of the Jedi, followed last year by Tales of the Empire. But this Star Wars Day this year, prepare for some scum and villainy in Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld. This series us several adventures in the seedy criminal side of the galaxy far, far away. The two main characters are infamous bounty hunters from The Clone Wars, Cad Bane and Asajj Ventress, the ex-Sith assassin. You can watch the trailer for Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld below:
According to Lucasfilm, the new anthology series will focus on the criminal underbelly of the Star Wars galaxy through the experiences of two iconic villains. After an appearance in season three of The Bad Batch, former assassin and bounty hunter Asajj Ventress has a new chance at life. She finds herself on the run with an unexpected new ally. Meanwhile, outlaw Cad Bane, last seen in live-action in The Book of Boba Fett, faces his past when he confronts an old friend, now a Marshal on the opposite side of the law.

We expect other famous Star Wars gangsters and rogues to pop up in this anthology series as well. A Hutt has to appear at some point, right? And maybe even Boba Fett is lurking around the underworld somewhere. Dave Filoni, the man behind The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch, and Ahsoka, created the series and is the supervising director. Matt Michnovetz is the series writer. The talented voice cast includes Nika Futterman as Asajj Ventress and Corey Burton as Cad Bane. Also in the cast are Artt Butler, Lane Factor, AJ LoCascio, Clare Grant, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and Eric Lopez.
Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld premieres on Disney+ on May 4 and its trailer makes us excited to watch.
