Squid Game is making history.
On Tuesday (July 12), the hit Netflix series scored an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama series, becoming the first non-English show to be nominated in the category.

The show landed 14 total nominations at the 2022 Emmys, with star Lee Jung-jae also being recognized in the Outstanding Lead Actor category.
Squid Game currently stands as the most-watched Netflix original series of all time. The streamer officially renewed the series for a second season a month ago.
Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk also recently discussed what fans could expect from the new season earlier this year, teasing which characters would be returning for the upcoming episodes.
