Streamer SoLLUMINATI has revealed that he will be staying on Twitch despite not feeling “safe” on the Amazon-owned platform, as Kick won’t offer big money.
At the start of May, SoLLUMINATI made his return to Twitch as he was finally unbanned after more than five years. However, it didn’t take long for the streamer to find himself back in hot water.
SoLLUMINATI was banned for the first time since returning a few days later, with Twitch issuing him a test on “hateful” conduct before returning. He was then banned for a second time on May 20, just as he had close to 90,000 viewers during an NBA 2K wage stream.
The two bans led to the streamer to claim that he didn’t “feel safe” on Twitch, and suggested he would move to a new platform. Adin Ross led the charge for him to switch to Kick, but as the Stake-backed platform won’t hand out big deals, he is sticking with Twitch.
SoLLUMINATI backtracks on Twitch exit
“Kick, they sold bad y’all, they sold bad. The higher-ups, the CEO, they ain’t offering nothing over there, they perfectly fine with what they have,” he said on June 2, naming some of the streamers who received big paydays from Kick.
“These other platforms, they were trying to get me to stop streaming on Twitch, period, and they wanted me to just stream with them. I’m not leaving Twitch, I just wanted to see somewhere like a back-up plan in case I keep getting banned, I can still go live.
“As of right now, I’m not leaving Twitch. I’m not going nowhere, I’m perfectly fine, I just need to censor myself a little bit.”
As noted, the streamer had previously called on Ross to sign him up to Kick. “Chat, SoLLUMINATI is going to come to Kick. It is happening,” Adin said initially.
SoLLUMINATI had also claimed that he was scrapping a number of big IRL streams that he had planned to host on Twitch. “Twitch don’t even deserve me, man,” he said. That may have changed now.
