If he wasn’t already, Skip Bayless has officially become a living caricature of himself, as he recently dropped an 8-minute-long video debating — or, rather, arguing against — the merits of Sabrina Carpenter as a pop star. Bayless is 73-years-old.

With Skip Bayless’ bread-and-butter leagues of the NBA and the NFL — namely LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, and Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys — in their offseason, the veteran hot taking sports media personality has clearly found himself scrapping the bottom of the barrel for “content,” as he recently posted a video telling Sabrina Carpenter’s fans that she’s “not a pop icon and never will be.”

Truth be told, the video is so long that I haven’t even watched it yet. And frankly, you don’t have to in order to understand just how generally sad the video is: Bayless is sitting his Real Housewives of Charleston coded living room, wearing a t-shirt befit for a 6th grade boy, pomeranian in his lap, running out the ol’ “LeBron is overrated” playbook on SABRINA CARPENTER.

“Damn it really went downhill for you, how did you do to being the top sports journalist to discussing pop stars for rage bait engagement?” one person replied.

“For the uninitiated this actually stamps Sabrina as THE pop icon of her generation,” another added.

“5 days no NBA, 4.5 months no NFL, he’s digging in the crates for hot takes. Real hater,” a third joked.

Bayless’ hot take will shortly be put to the test as Carpenter’s newest album Man’s Best Friend, her first since becoming a true A-list pop star, will be releasing on August 29.
