Twenty-five years after their show went off the air, the cast of Married… with Children got back together to support one of their own. On Monday, Nov. 14, Christina Applegate, who played Kelly Bundy on the long-running sitcom, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and her former colleagues were in attendance.
Getting a star is something Applegate has been dreaming about since before she started her career. “I’ve had a really interesting life,” Applegate said at the ceremony, according to CNN. “The life started as being a little girl, waiting in line to see the first Star Wars on this very street, at that very theater, looking at these [stars on the street] going, ‘Who are these people?’ What did they do? Did they do something right? Did they do something wrong? Whatever it is, I want one. I [expletive] want one! And I was five years old. So this day means more to me than you can possibly imagine.”
Being on hand to receive the honor marks the first time that Applegate has made a public appearance since sharing her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS). The 50-year-old actor shared publicly that she has the autoimmune disease in August 2021.

At her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Applegate was joined by Katey Sagal, who played Peggy, Kelly’s mother on the show; David Faustino, who played her brother, Bud; and Amanda Bearse, who played neighbor Marcy. Notably absent was Ed O’Neill, who played Kelly’s father, Al Bundy.
Additionally, Linda Cardellini, who co-stars with Applegate on the Netflix series Dead to Me, was in attendance.
When it was time for Applegate to give her speech, Sagal helped her to the podium and stood by her side, according to Variety. Referring to Sagal and Faustino—who both made remarks in Applegate’s honor—the star said, “You are my everything. I love that I started with you two. I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. You are my people. You are my loves.”

Applegate has remained close with her Married… with Children co-stars and has given her TV parents credit for helping to raise her. When the series premiered, she was only 16.
“I love her so much,” Applegate told The Insider of Sagal in 2017. “She did raise me, so she is my mama. I always say to people, if you don’t like things about me, just talk to Katey and Ed [O’Neill] because they raised me. If you do like things about me, talk to Katey and Ed, because they raised me.”
Married… with Children may be making a comeback—just in a different format. In May, Deadline reported that a Married… with Children animated series was in the works and would possibly be picked up by a streaming service or TV network. The show would feature all four original Bundy family stars.
In a November interview with Variety, Applegate commented on the news, saying, “We’re hoping that that works!”
The animated show would come at a key time for Applegate, who isn’t sure about where her acting career will go following Dead to Me, the final season of which premieres on Nov. 17.
“I’m pretty convinced that this was it, you know?” Applegate said to Variety about whether or not Dead to Me would be her last big live-action role. She explained of continuing to work with MS, which limits her physically, “I’m just a newbie to all of this. I’m trying to figure it out—and I’m also in mourning for the person that I was. I have to find a place that’s as loving as my set was, where they won’t think I’m a diva by saying, ‘Hey, I can only work five hours.'”
