Robin Arzón is “choosing discipline” in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the Peloton instructor flaunts her fit figure in a sports bra and leggings while teaching a spin class. “Choosing discipline is the ultimate act of self-love; it’s the key to unlocking your true potential. Ready to embrace it and watch yourself soar?” she asks in the Instagram caption. How does the fitness instructor approach diet exercise and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
“I’ve been eating 100 percent plant-based for eight years,” Arzón says. “What I want people to know most is that a plant-based diet is not about restriction in any way. It’s about getting creative in new ways. The more you expand your repertoire, the more exciting it gets.”
“Every day I have a smoothie, just adding whatever [produce] I have in the fridge in there,” Robin says. “Typically, that means spinach, kale, and frozen berries.” For protein, she adds a spoonful of almond butter. “I also like adding nuts and seeds, like hemp seeds,” she says. If she teaches at 7 am, she will drink water, apple cider vinegar, and sea salt and wait until after to drink the smoothie.
“I literally use a mixing bowl for my salads, that’s how big they are,” Arzón says about her go-to lunch. It usually consists of plenty of proteins and healthy fats mixed with greens. Beans, avocado, nuts, seeds, and kimchi are some things she likes to toss in.
Robin enjoys protein packed black bean pasta and makes her own red sauce. “Spice is key,” she says. “When I make pasta sauce, I marinate onions, use a lot of garlic, and play around with other different spices in my pantry,” she says.
“Instructing classes is my job, not my workout,” says Robin. In addition to teaching spin, she trains for anywhere from between two to four hours a day, six days a week. “I mix it up between running, strength training, and the bike,” she tells Well + Good.
