Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant are celebrating their upcoming wedding in Jamnagar, as per their parents Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s wishes, and they forget Bollywood and even Hollywood celebs are dropping in for the event. And who better than Queen Rihanna to keep the guests entertained?
Anant and Radhika will get married in July, but a pre-wedding ceremony is being hosted by the Ambanis to celebrate their roots. An entourage of global celebs, including the former US President, have arrived in Jamnagar for the event.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding ceremony is a three-day event, and reports suggest that pop sensation Rihanna will be performing at the event along with Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, Pritam, Hariharan and Ajay-Atul.
But while Rihanna is the star attraction of the event this year, earlier, many global performers, from Beyonce to Chris Martin, performed for the Ambanis.
In fact, Rihanna is being paid 250% more this year than Beyonce was paid for an event a few years ago. Here is a list of the lowest-paid to highest-paid celebrities at Ambani events.
Gigi Hadid – 2.5 crore ($300,000)
The supermodel created a lot of controversy due to Varun Dhawan’s unannounced peck during their performance at the NMAAC event. The supermodel usually charges $300K for usual events, and this one hosted by Nita Ambani would have been the same.
Maroon 5 – 12 crore ($1 – $1.5 million)
The popular band performed at Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s Mangal Parv ceremony in 2019, and their paycheck amounted to 12 crore.
John Legend – 12 crore ($1 – $1.5 million)
Singer John Legend was a part of the same performance slot and was paid 12 crore to entertain the global guests at the same event – Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s Mangal Parv.
Chris Martin – 8 crore ($1 million)
The Coldplay singer was paid 8 crore to perform for Shloka Mehta and Akash Ambani’s winter wonderland-themed pre-wedding party.
Beyonce – 22 – 33 crore ($3.5 – $4 million)
In 2018, Queen Bey was paid around 22 crore to perform at Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s wedding. Some reports even claim the number to be 33 crore. For clarity, she was paid somewhere between $3.5 – 4 million for her performance.
Rihanna – 77 crore ($9 – $10 million)
This year, Rihanna is being paid around $9 – 10 million; her regular price is close to 77 crores in INR. The pop sensation has already reached Jamnagar with husband A$AP Rocky for her performance. Other reports also suggest that she is charging close to 60 – 70 crore.
