Actor Guillermo Ivan stars in the new action film “6 Hours Away,” which was released on April 19.

Nicolás Di Blasi directed the movie from a screenplay by Garry Charles.

Ivan plays former marine Chris Montano, who finds himself in a race against time to save his wife after she goes missing during a business trip.

Chris must defeat the six rivals of the Cartel leader who kidnapped his wife, or he will never see her again.

Aside from Ivan, it stars Roberto Sanchez, Lara Wolf, Oscar Lopez, and Oscar Torre, among others.

Guillermo Ivan layers his emotions well, and his acting runs the gamut; in certain scenes, the audience can feel his pain and they can relate to his complex character’s psyche.

Hopefully, this is a harbinger that Guillermo Ivan will be the male lead in more movies to come in the future.

While not everything about “Six Hours Away” is excellent (there are some minor hiccups), there is more than enough to warrant more than just a passing glance.

The Verdict

Overall, “6 Hours Away” is a high-adrenaline, fun, yet bumpy adventure, which at times, is a hot mess. Guillermo Ivan emerges as a strong male lead in it, and he has great chemistry opposite Lara Wolf (fans can slightly recall elements of Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz in “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” when it comes to their characters).

“6 Hours Away” will certainly keep viewers at the edge of their seats. This film garners four out of five stars.
