Rapper Ty Dolla $ign was ‘dropped from Coachella lineup because of Kanye West’

Kanye West has been turned down from performing at multiple venues due to his controversial comments about the Jewish community

RAPPER Ty Dolla $ign has been booted from the Coachella lineup after he was allegedly in talks to perform before releasing his album with Kanye West.

The Carnival hitmaker has been a guest of many artists over the years including Post Malone and Future and was excited to be in the 2024 lineup, according to a source.

But the insider says he was left “fuming” after talks to book him broke down as he worked on his Vultures record with Kanye following his anti-Semitic comments.

“Ty has been a guest for so many people and would of course loved to have played Coachella, but he believes he’s been canceled by association,” a source told The U.S. Sun.

“The album has been so popular despite not being released on a label, but it seems organizers Golden Voice did not want to deal with the headache of booking him or Kanye.

“He was not impressed and has complained to friends about it as Coachella is a bucket-list gig for most artists and he’d been working his way up.”

It is not known whether a contract had been drawn up, but insiders say Golden Voice has been known to drop acts in the past even if they signed a deal as there are also several exclusivity clauses.

They include prohibiting artists from participating “at any other North American festival from December 15th to May 1st [and] in the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, Ventura, or San Diego from December 15th to May 1st.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Ty Dolla $ign’s rep and Golden Voice for comment.

Ty has still played multiple shows with Kanye, 46, to promote their new album, including listening parties, although they have not always been well-received.

They canceled several events after festival-goers hit out at the duo for not performing live during their headline set at Rolling Loud in Inglewood, California last month.

They took the stage in black outfits and their now famous masks and played the pre-released record for an hour, deciding not to debut any new material.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Rolling Loud clarified that fans could expect a live show before the duo took to the stage.

“Is he performing or is it a listening party?” one asked.

“You don’t see listening experience on the Yeezy flyer, do you,” the festival’s social media team sassily responded.

In another post, a user desperately asked, “Are [Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign] going to perform or just stand there?”

Rolling Loud responded, “Perform,” but then the social media page backtracked and added, “Oops [I don’t know]. It’s on him.”

BIRTHDAY BASH

Vultures 2 was slated to drop on March 8, but it has been delayed several times and there is no new release date.

A clip of Kanye speaking with the YEFANATICS fan page in his Instagram DMs was posted online over the weekend, in which he revealed the album will not be on streaming services.

“Was talking with the team about how to release the next album. Like James Blake said streaming devalues our music. We sell albums on Yeezy.com,” he said.

“I got 20 million Instagram followers. When five percent of my followers buy an album, that’s one million albums sold. That’s 300K more than the biggest album last year.

“We sold 1 million items on Yeezy.com on Super Bowl Sunday so we know it’s possible. How do you feel about us not streaming and only selling the album digitally.”

Despite the backlash, Ty is not giving up on his friendship with Kanye after the album’s success and was seen hanging out with the hitmaker at his birthday party in Los Angeles this week.

The star celebrated his 42nd birthday with Kanye , Ye’s wife Bianca Censori, and other friends at celeb hotspot Nice Guy in West Hollywood on Wednesday night.
