Rakul Preet Singh is on the March cover of Travel and Leisure India. She traveled all the way to Thailand to shoot the photo. Singh just shared the cover from the shoot on Instagram. Singh is a vegan. She opened up about how she made this choice to HealthShots. “Turning vegan was something that was really not on my mind. But it was a sudden calling that I got and I stopped feeling the desire to eat non-vegetarian food. The more I got into meditation, the more I started to feel a difference on days that my diet was vegetarian. Although I would not eat meat at every meal, I felt nicer when I consumed vegan and vegetarian food.”

Singh tells HealthShots that her main focus for wellness is what makes her happy. “When your mind and heart are happy, there’s a positive impact on everything you do,” she explains. “The energy that you exude and feel is more positive. I know it might sound odd, but I had read somewhere that when you consume veggies, you aren’t really consuming negative vibes of the dead. All in all, I do feel a difference.”

While many people are afraid of carbs, Singh isn’t. She tells HealthShots that she enjoys good, healthy carbs. “One of my most favourite foods is Thai curry with rice. When people hear I eat rice, they get really surprised. Yes, I eat rice for both lunch and dinner. It’s good carbs, and there’s a difference between good and bad carbs.”

Singh shares a lot of her favorite exercises on Instagram. One thing she likes to do is box. She posted this video of herself sparring with a trainer. Singh captioned the post, “Don’t give up. Glove up.” Harvard Health reports that boxing can help with balance and posture, and can strengthen upper body and core muscles.


Singh doesn’t skip leg day. In fact, she makes sure to push herself doing lower body exercises. She shared this gym video on Instagram. In it, Singh is seen using the leg curl machine at the gym, while a trainer works with her. She attempts to do 150 repetitions. Singh captioned the post, “Endure the pain, enjoy the gain!”
