Prince Harry On The ‘Special’ Experience Of Watching Sports Transform Lives

Prince Harry recently talked about the impact of the Invictus Games ahead of the next edition, which will be held in Vancouver, Canada.

In an inspirational video featuring clips of some of the competitors, the Invictus Games founder highlighted how “sport has the ability to heal, to change lives, and to save lives.”

All signs point to Prince Harry and his team preparing to host veterans and wounded soldiers, just like they have done before. Pre-registration for early access to tickets has also been made available on the official website of Invictus Games.

With less than 156 days until the next Invictus Games edition, Prince Harry has promoted the international event in a video shared on the edition’s official X account.

The nearly two-minute mash-up of competitors included a segment where the Duke of Sussex spoke about the powerful impact that involving wounded soldiers and veterans in sports has had on improving their lives.

As the founder of the Invictus Games, he also shared how rewarding it has been to witness it alongside his team and viewers.

“Sport has the ability to heal, to change lives, and to save lives,” said the prince in the video. “For so many of these competitors, getting to the start line has been one of the hardest moments of their life.”

He added, “But at the Games, their lives are changed. Watching these magical moments happen, and sport being the facilitator of that, is very, very special for all of us to witness.”

Some followers have reacted to the video, praising the prince for his long-running work as the patron of the Invictus Games.

One person wrote, “Inspiring stories, inspiring people, inspiring music, #InvictusGames is a truly life changing experience for all, with Prince Harry at the realm, there is no wonder it goes from strength to strength, his commitment to fellow veterans is sincere & heartwarming.”

A second individual commented, “I have watched the games. I have seen what it does for the vets. Service members and family. Saves lives and heals families. Prince Harry did a wonderful thing for 10 years with the founding of Invictus. I have seen the respect, admiration, the vets, and all 4 Harry. They are grateful.”

A couple of other social media users slammed the video and asked the organizers to remove Harry as a patron.

One wrote, “Invictus needs to get a new Patron. Harry has shown himself to be a petty man-child, using these games to try and one up his more mature and grounded brother.”

Another individual remarked sternly, “There are far better patrons than a self-confessed drug user, liar & hypocrite, yet you chose #PrinceHarry. No wonder donations are down!”

The video comes days ahead of the Duke’s 40th birthday celebration. While he has yet to announce any plans for the day, some sources have claimed that it would be marked in a special way with his wife, Meghan Markle, and two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

“They will likely throw a lavish party and invite friends over around his birthday,” Royal commentator Lydia Alty told theExpress.

She added, “Meghan and Harry have many friends in Hollywood, so it will definitely be a huge bash whatever they do. Who knows, they may even sell inside pictures of the party to the media.”

Insiders have claimed that it would be unlikely that any senior royal will make the trip to the States for the party, especially given the unresolved issues between Harry and the Palace.

Amid the continued feuding, Harry is believed to be open to a reunion with his brother, Prince William.

“Harry is open to reconciling with his brother,” an insider shared with the Express. “He knows it won’t be an easy task, but it is something that can be brought to the table.”

The source also shared that William isn’t hell-bent on maintaining the feud, although a reunion would require certain conditions to be met.

They added: “William is not opposed to a reconciliation with his brother at some point, but things would need to start from scratch, a fresh start type scenario, where things from the past are not to be mentioned.”

The brothers have reportedly been out of touch with each other following the release of Harry’s bombshell memoir and documentary.

According to reports, Harry and William did not engage with each other at the recent memorial service in Sandringham for their late uncle, Sir Robert Fellowes.

Eyewitnesses at the event told The Sun that they didn’t see the pair talking to each other at Lord Fellowes’s funeral, meaning a possible reunion between them may not be in the works at the moment.

“I didn’t know they were there. They arrived very discreetly,” a local said. Another noted, “William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance.”

The same report was maintained by Reverend Dan Tansey, the vicar of the church, who told the Daily Mail that William and Harry walked “a few people apart” as they left the event and couldn’t recall them talking to each other at a reception afterward.
