Preservation Hall Jazz Band Perform at the Greenwich Town Party (A Gallery)

The annual Greenwich Town Party returned to Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Saturday. Billy Joel headlined the single-day festival, which also included sets from Old Crow Medicine Show, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Mathes, Kimberlin & Friends, featuring Oz Noy and several others.

Robert Randolph & the Family Band were slated to perform but their set was rained out. However, Randolph stuck around and sat in with Preservation Hall Jazz Band for a pair of songs, including “Keep Your Head Up.” Randolph also joined Old Crow Medicine Show during their performance of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.” During Old Crow’s sing-along rendition of their track “Wagon Wheel,” members of Preservation Hall Jazz Band also took the stage.

Joel, who is famously from Long Island, talked early on in his set about how he likes to take his boat to Greenwich and shouted out to the fans watching from their own vessels. Joel also welcomed members of Preservation Hall Jazz Band for his own “Scenes From an Italian Restaurant.”
