Pilar Rubio is breaking a sweat – in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the Spanish reporter shows off her amazing body in a black sports bra and matching leggings during a rigorous sweat session at the gym. “Work out lady 😜,” she captioned the post. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
Pilar maintains a clean diet, trying to stick to whole foods. “I always try to eat breakfast at the same time and try to find time in the morning to stretch,” she told Real Madrid Family. “I’m used to eating healthy. I understand healthy food as fruit and vegetables, but also meat and fish.” What is her favorite meal? “Sorry but I love the salads … But very diverse, one day couscous, another day lentils … then green peas.” Her cheat food? “I also love the burgers.”
Pilar does a lot of other workouts, including pilates, swimming, and “I also exercise pelvic muscles” she said. In fact, she is so active, she admits that she barely sleeps. “I don’t know how to do it anymore, really,” she says about getting eight hours of slumber. “I get overwhelmed … In the end I start doing things and sleep three, four hours.”
Pilar understands that maintaining a caloric deficit is the key to staying in shape. “The secret is to find a balance between what you eat and what you burn,” she told Real Madrid Family. “You have to burn everything you eat: this is the secret.”
Pilar has her own form of fitness, The Rubio Method. She has even published a book on it. The five pillars consist of “Rest, training, nutrition, physiological knowledge and, above all, mind,” she told Pledge Times.
Pilar works out five to six days per week. Her go-to workout? Strength and weight training, which she does in her recent video. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:
- Develop strong bones
- Manage your weight
- Enhance your quality of life
- Manage chronic conditions
- Sharpen your thinking skills
