In an effort to promote the release of their new reality show on MAX, the dreadfully titled Paul American, HBO and the Paul brothers held an event at Times Square for the premiere. At least, they *tried* to hold an event, as videos from the night showed Times Square looking and sounding like a ghost town.
The video immediately caught the attention of former UFC fighter Dillon Danis, who posted the video on social media with the caption “The silence was loud.” The video was such a bad look that its source, the official “Paul American on MAX” account on TikTok, deleted the original video.
Danis and his beef with the Pauls goes back a couple of years, as Danis routinely harassed Logan Paul’s fiancee Nina Agdal in the lead-up to their amateur boxing match, which Logan Paul won.

Here is the official synopsis for Paul American, which has begun streaming on MAX:
“After conquering internet stardom and taking on sports entertainment, Jake and Logan Paul venture into unfamiliar territory: a family reality show.”
In their review of the project, Variety absolutely ripped the series and the Paul brothers in particular. The Atlantic similarly disparaged the Paul brothers’ ability to be interesting, saying the “girlfriends steal the limelight.”
“Logan and Jake Paul lack some fundamental charm. Even by the standards of the genre, giving them the notice they seek feels like consuming empty calories. The takeaway from time spent with them is one that anyone who’s spent time with very young children already knows — that it’s inherently human to want to be the center of attention. But most small children eventually outgrow the impulse to act out,” Variety wrote.
In recent years, Jake Paul has taken up amateur boxing, most recently “fighting” Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium back in November, winning by unanimous decision. Logan Paul, on the other hand, has taken up wrestling in the WWE. Together, the pair have over 50 million followers on Instagram.
