Monalisa is hitting the gym in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the Bigg Boss star shows off her slimmed down figure during an exercise session. “Rehearsal vibes,” she captioned one of the Instagram Stories. How does the Indian actress, 41, approach health and wellness? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

“I was extremely slim when I first entered the industry. I would always maintain myself and regularly go to the gym,” she said, per The Sun. “But I had work commitments and outdoor shoots, for which I had to shoot daily when I was doing Bhojpuri films. I couldn’t properly maintain my diet.”

After leaving the Bigg Boss house Monalisa lost a whopping 22 pounds. “When I did Bigg Boss 10, I lost 10 kg after coming out of the house. That was superb. I wonder how I lost so much weight,” she said. “It was an experience of a lifetime being in the Bigg Boss house. After doing that reality show, I got a lot of love and became popular all over India. I got name and fame. It was such a happy moment for me.”

Monalisa lost another 15 pounds by working out with her husband Vikrant. “I did planks, I watched videos on the internet and did cardio for 45 minutes to 1 hour regularly,” she said. “We would workout every day.”

“I did yoga, meditation regularly,” she added. Harvard Health explains why you should consider doing yoga. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” they said. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”

“I followed a strict diet to keep my immunity strong and lose weight also,” she added. One of her main tactics is cooking meals at home. “I am still continuing my diet, and haven’t stopped. I feel 70 percent of it is diet and 30 percent exercise.”
