Molly-Mae Hague, the influencer, YouTuber, and Love Island star, is spending time in Tulum, Mexico. Naturally, she is taking advantage of the city’s warm weather and gorgeous scenery. Hague posted a new photo on Instagram of herself sitting by a lake in a white one-piece swimsuit. She captioned the photo, “Tulum you’re magic.” How does she stay so fit? For Hague, wellness is all about trying new things. She says that she likes to try new methods in order to see what works for her body. “I have been on a journey with my body, finding out what works for my body, what I need for my body to feel good,” she explained in one of her vlogs.
Before appearing on Love Island, Hague decided to get in shape. She changed her diet and did a lot of sessions with her personal trainer, Connor O’Brian. In 2019, O’Brian opened up about Hague’s process to Liverpool Echo, “We did a lot of sessions in a short time frame and devised a diet plan after body fat testing so that it suited what it was she needed. It was only about two weeks we had, but we worked on getting her the body that she wanted.”
Hague unfortunately has had to deal with a lot of trolls, body shamers, and people making assumptions about her weight. She was trolled after a series of photos were posted on the Internet. Hague wasn’t afraid of calling the trolls out. She wrote in a Tweet, “I would genuinely love to know who writes these comments? Like how can you actually write” stuff “like that and sleep at night? Beyond me.”
Hague is extremely honest with her followers and her fans, and she isn’t afraid to let people know what she is currently struggling with. In one of her vlogs, Hague opened up about her mental health struggles, particularly when it comes to eating healthy and working out. “I’d be lying if I said that more than ever at the moment I feel the pressure so much with my body and just a battle within my own mind,” she began. “I wake up everyday thinking ‘I know I need to exercise today, I know I need to eat clean today, I’ve got a shoot in two weeks’. And most of the time I just don’t want to, that’s the complete truth.”
In a way to get herself to eat healthier, Hague revealed in a vlog that she decided to learn about portion sizes. She took her subscribers through what she eats on this plan, and what the healthy portion is. She explained, “For breakfast I’m going to be having some cereal. I’ve been having the same breakfast for the last month. It is 30 grams of Coco Pops – an exciting breakfast. That’s like a normal portion, guys. I must have been having about 300 grams before I knew 30 grams was a normal portion.”
