MLB Fans Want Tramell Tillman To Star In Barry Bonds Biopic Film

While everyone involved in AppleTV+’s mega-successful series Severance can likely count the project as a career game-changer for them — other than the O.G. likes of John Turturro and Christopher Walken — no one on the series has seen their career explode as much as Tramell Tillman, who is considered to be the scene-stealer of the show as the morally grey Mr. Milchick.

Tramell Tillman’s performance as Mr. Milichick in Severance is remarkable for numerous reasons, not least among them his ability to balance goofy corporatism with genuine menace. What stands out most to me, however, is Tillman has made Milchick a character the audience roots for despite him ostensibly being a villain (for now).

Prior to Severance, Tillman had never appeared in a feature film and largely made his hay with sporadic TV jobs — series such as Difficult People, Elementary, Godfather of Harlem, Hunters — and on the stage. Severance has changed all of that, though, as he’s now on his way to becoming an A-lister, as evidenced by his casting in the upcoming Mission: Impossible film.

Fans of Tillman’s work also have an idea of how he can take his career to the next level, as there have been growing calls for him to portray Major League Baseball legend Barry Bonds in a biopic about his life and career.

“We will never find a better casting choice for a Barry Bonds biopic,” claimed one viral tweet with over two million views.

“Just started Severance. Is there an artistic reason for Tramell Tillman to look like ‘91 Bonds?” a new Severance fan recently noted.

“Just finished Severance and I think we need a Barry Bonds biopic starring Tramell Tillman.”

Tillman as Bonds isn’t even a new idea, as we were able to dig up a tweet from 2022 that suggested the idea (Severance’s first season premiered that year — Tillman’s breakout role).

The second season of Severance concluded on AppleTV+ earlier this month and, as the most popular show in the history of the streaming service, was instantly renewed for a third season. According to director Ben Stiller, unlike the gap between S1 and S2, season three will not take three years to release.
