Marvel Studios has released the first official teaser trailer for Thunderbolts, which will be hitting theaters in May.
Thunderbolts, similar to DC’s Suicide Squad, is about a group of Marvel Cinematic Universe anti-heroes who are forced to team up for the greater good.
While the film features an ensemble cast, Academy Award nominee Florence Pugh seems to be in the lead role.
Thunderbolts, hitting theaters on Friday, May 2, 2025, stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Harrison Ford, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, and more.
Thunderbolts, directed by Paper Towns filmmaker Jake Schreier, will be Marvel Studios’ second movie to release in 2025 following Captain America: Brave New World in February, and will be the final film in the franchise’s “Phase 5,” which began with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2023.
After getting themselves a bit back on track this year with the billion-dollar-grossing Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel Studios will be hoping that 2025 will begin a return to form for the franchise as it ramps up for the upcoming Avengers movie in 2026, which will feature the debut of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
