Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 officially hit theaters today — Friday, May 5 — are Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are rejoicing as the film seems to be a return to form for the franchise.
Following the undeniable disappointment that was Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantuamnia, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 seems to be a much-needed hit with Marvel fans, who have been worrying in recent months that the franchise may have lost its mojo.
Luckily, though, in his final outing as an MCU director, James Gunn has delivered another classic Guardians adventure that’s heavy on both laughs and emotions.
I loved #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol3 . Funny, heartfelt and beautiful, it’s one of the best MCU movies in recent years and is a satisfying conclusion to this era of the series.
Plus there is an amazing hallway scene that is enough of a reason to go see it. Great stuff. pic.twitter.com/skP61VwSNv

After seeing #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol3 a second time I feel pretty confident in saying a few things
1. Rocket Raccoon is the best MCU Character
2. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 might be my favorite MCU film

After a middling Phase 4 and a troubling start to Phase 5 with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantuamnia, Marvel fans would have been seriously worried if the final Guardians of the Galaxy film also suffered from some of the recent issues that have plagued the MCU. Thanks to Gunn’s incredible grasp of these characters, though, GotG Vol. 3 appears to be a perfect farewell to everyone’s favorite cosmic outcasts.
The only way I can describe #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 is an emotional accomplishment unlike any other. I cried so much for reasons I never saw coming. These are the most flawed and lovable characters in the MCU and this sendoff is everything they deserve and more. Top 3 MCU 10/10 pic.twitter.com/LCqzn2Is5D

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3 is James Gunn at the peak of his powers.
Heartfelt, dark, enthralling and sincere, it’s a transcendent experience that will cause your emotions to move and your tears to flow.
A reminder of what the MCU can accomplish when they try.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 — which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Will Poulter, Pom. Klementieff, and more — hit theaters in the United States on Friday, May 5. Check out our full review here.
Following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there is just one Marvel film left on the calendar for this year: The Marvels, which will hit theaters in November. A sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, the Nia DaCosta-directed film will star Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton, Park Seo-joon, Shamier Anderson, and more.
In addition to the MCU’s big screen output, 2023 will also see the release of the Samuel L. Jackson-starring series Secret Invasion, which will hit Disney+ in August. The second season of Loki was also set to release this year, although it’s currently unclear if that remains the case, especially considering the recent legal drama surrounding Jonathan Majors, who is set to appear in the series as the Kang variant Victor Timely.
