Mark Wahlberg Says His Family Is ‘Thriving’ In Las Vegas
In an interview with E! News, Mark Wahlberg revealed that his family’s move to Las Vegas had been a positive change for them. The 51-year-old actor revealed that his children are enjoying their time in Sin City six months after they left Los Angeles to prioritize their children’s well-being.
According to the “Ted” actor, his children “love Vegas.” He also acknowledged that while he had spent a lot of time pursuing his interests and career in L.A., it was now time for his children to pursue theirs in Las Vegas, stating, “I spent lots of time in L.A. pursuing my interests and my career, and now it’s time for them to pursue theirs.”
“Everybody is thriving there; it’s been great,” he added.
“I want to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams — whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer — this made a lot more sense for us,” he shared.
He Plans To Build Hollywood 2.0 In Las Vegas
During his interview Wahlberg also shared how his move to Las Vegas has brought exciting entertainment for him and his wife, Rhea Durham, along with their children Grace, 13, Ella, 19, Brendan, 14, and Michael, 17, as they enjoy their time in Nevada, exploring all that the city has to offer.
“I saw Adele, I saw Bruno Mars [as part of Silk Sonic],” he shared. “I’ve seen several shows and been to many great restaurants. There’s so much to do in Vegas, and it’s so exciting.”
In October, the “Me Time” star shared his plans to help turn Las Vegas into “Hollywood 2.0” by building a state-of-the-art studio and encouraging legislation for tax credits. Wahlberg explained, per People magazine, that he wanted to be “able to work from home” and spend more time with his family.
Reiterating, Wahlberg emphasized that the move to Las Vegas was made with the children’s well-being in mind as they pursue their dreams in sports and other areas. He also explained that the decision to relocate gave their family a fresh start and new opportunities for growth and success.

The family celebrated another milestone earlier this year when they dropped off their eldest daughter, Ella, at Clemson University in South Carolina.
