In 2017, the then-teen actress started a fitness program called Results 4 Teens, to help other youth get into shape. “It all started with a couple of training sessions that I posted on Instagram which got hundreds of comments,” she told The Sun in 2017. “It was then I realized that so many teens struggle with not only how to keep fit but also the confidence to join in group classes sometimes!”

Smith actually enjoys exercise. “I’ll be honest, I love going to the gym,” she told New! Magazine. “It’s my happy place where I can work on myself.” Smith also admits that the lockdown did stunt her fitness. “In lockdown it was closed and I didn’t do one home workout. I just couldn’t be bothered.”

Smith always fuels her body for fitness. When she was prepping for Strictly, she told Heat that she had to eat more to fuel herself for the training. ‘It’s weird. Everyone always says “Going on the show you’re just going to shed the weight. But I haven’t noticed that about myself because I eat triple the amount of food I was eating before,” she said. “I think I’m the only celeb to actually put on weight.”

Aside from rigorous workout sessions at the gym, Smith is a big fan of yoga. “I have always loved keeping active, especially with yoga,” she told The Sun. “Yoga is more than just a workout—it’s actually a combination of four components: postures (like tree pose), breathing practices, deep relaxation, and meditation that can transform your health on many different levels,” says Harvard Health.

Smith has been very open about her body image struggles. “Here lies a collection of photos taken at the exact same time, however, from different angles, under different lighting. The past few years I’ve been VERY insecure about my legs. I covered them up as much possible. No matter how many people told me ‘cellulite is natural.. everyone has it..’ I still hated them,” she captioned an Instagram post. “It’s taken me a while but I’m starting to accept these aspects of myself that I’ve always seen as ‘flaws’. I wore gym shorts (out of the house) for the FIRST time a couple of months ago n I was so so proud of myself 💘. I wish I could I say that I LOVE my body but I’m still working on that 😅 The reason I posted this was because I understand that it’s SO hard to love yourself and see your ‘flaws’ as ‘qualities’. We ALL have things we want to change about ourselves. But I hope this can help other people feel more confident about their own insecurities. BECAUSE YOU ARE FRIGGING BEAUTIFUL. And because self love is the best love.”
