LIZZO has just made an out-of-the-blue announcement about her future in the music industry.
The 35-year-old rapper and singer shared the message on Friday from her Instagram Feed.
In the post, Lizzo announced that she had left the music industry.
On a bright orange background, she wrote, “I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet.
“All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it.
“But, I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”
The performer continued, “I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout and views…
“Being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look…
“My character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name.”
Lizzo concluded her message, “I didn’t sign up for this s**t – I QUIT,” with a peace sign emoji.
The famous flute player has been in the music industry since 2011, but her career really took off after her song Good As Hell was released in 2016.
Most recently, she found success when her song Pink was featured in the 2023 Barbie movie.
