A year ago, DC Studios announced they were bringing back their caped superhero in the movie Superman: Legacy. The studio’s CEO and filmmaker, James Gunn, will direct the film. Everyone initially thought Henry Cavill would reprise his role from the Man of Steel. However, the studios announced an entirely new cast. Actor David Corenswet will play Clark Kent, aka Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan will essay Lois Lane.

It took a while for fans to accept that Henry Cavill will no longer play Superman in DC Movies. However, with time, fans started showing their excitement towards the upcoming movie. Now, actress Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane (earlier played by Amy Adams), gave an interesting answer.

During the SAG Awards 2024 red carpet, the actress told Variety, “I have grown up on Dawn of Superman movies with Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder, and I have always loved Lois Lane. She is smart, ambitious and can be funny. She knows she is the smartest person in the room, more often than not.

I’ve always loved this character. So when the opportunity came around… Such a fan of James Gunn. We are still finding these characters. We haven’t started shooting yet. I’m excited to share the movie with everyone. You will meet the final version of them.”

Recently, director James Gunn shared a behind-the-scenes picture with the Superman: Legacy cast. The team finished their table read in Atlanta. Everyone looked happy and excited as they were about to venture into this exciting new professional chapter of their lives. The team will start the shooting in March.

Meanwhile, the rest of the cast includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Edit Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mister Terrific, Maria Gabriela De Faria as Angela Spica/The Engineer among others. As per the reports, House of the Dragon actress Milly Alcock will play Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in the film.

Superman: Legacy will be released in theatres on July 11, 2025.
