Friday, May 4 is official Star Wars Day — “May the 4th be with you” — and Storm Troopers were spotted on ESPN’s campus as a result, since the Mouse House owns both Star Wars (Lucasfilm) and ABC.
NFL Live host Laura Rutledge took to Twitter to share a photo of herself in a stunning yellow dress with a pair of Storm Troopers, captioning it “Just a regular day at work.”
Rutledge, 35 years old, has been at ESPN since 2014 and has been the host of NFL Live since 2020. NFL Live has seen a growth in popularity and viewership thanks to the crew of her, Marcus Spears, Dan Orlovsky, Mina Kimes, and Ryan Clark.
In addition to NFL Live, Rutledge also hosts the college football show SEC Nation, has sideline reporting duties and plays a role in ESPN’s coverage of the NFL’s Pro Bowl Games and the NFL Draft. This year, she also covered The Masters, too.
Rutledge went to college at the University of Florida and won the Miss Florida competition in 2012. She’s married to former baseball player Josh Rutledge and has two children with him, a daughter named Reese and a son named Jack.
In celebration of this year’s Star Wars Day, Lucasfilm and Disney will be re-releasing Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace in movie theaters this weekend to commemorate the 25-year anniversary of the film.
Next up in the Star Wars universe is The Acolyte, a new series from Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland that’ll premiere on Disney+ on June 4.
