Kristin Cavallari has spoken about her difficulty with her father, who she's called a "narcissist," before.

Kristin Cavallari didn’t mince words when opening up about her estrangement from her father.

“This might sound messed up to some people, but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made, cutting my dad out of my life,” the reality star shared in an interview with People magazine published Monday.

“Such a weight has been lifted from me,” the “Let’s Be Honest” podcaster added. “There’s not one day where I miss him.”

Cavallari said that it took about 35 years of “buildup” to finally end her relationship with her father, and shared that it “was something that I had been wanting to do for a long time.”

The final straw for the Uncommon James founder came when her father “crossed the boundary” with her kids and then “couldn’t even apologize.”

Cavallari has spoken about her difficulty with her father, who she’s called a “narcissist,” before.

“I actually didn’t realize my dad was a narcissist until I was an adult,” she said during an episode of her podcast in 2023.

“All I knew growing up was that I didn’t want to be around him. He always made me feel like I wasn’t good enough,” she explained. “But then the flip side of that is, sometimes, he would put me on this pedestal and talk me up. Now as an adult looking back, I’m like, ‘Oh, it was when it benefited you and made you look good.’”

Cavallari touched on the incident with her kids but declined to share details of what happened.

“I was always like, ‘I can take it. I can take the abuse.’ I have my whole life,” she said. “But it’s like when you start now messing with my kids ― I’m not doing it.”
