King Charles III has finally returned to work in the palace amid speculations regarding his health status. Back in February, the monarch was diagnosed with cancer while undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate.

Since his diagnosis was announced, Charles took a break from his royal duties to manage his health and receive treatment. However, he is now back at work, and Buckingham Palace has released photos of the king greeting ambassadors.

As we previously reported, the King revealed that he had been “reduced to tears” after being showered with kind words and support following his cancer diagnosis.

Charles said this during a meeting with Prime Minister Sunak at Buckingham Palace to discuss matters about the government.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister told the King that it was “wonderful to see you looking so well,” to which Charles quipped, “It’s all done with mirrors.”

Sunak then reassured the monarch, “We’re all behind you. The country is behind you,” prompting him to reply, “I’ve had so many wonderful messages and cards. It’s reduced me to tears most of the time.”

During the King’s conversation with Sunak, they talked about how Charles’ cancer diagnosis helped spotlight important cancer charities.

“I hear there’s been a lot more attention and interest on those main, wonderful cancer charities, many of which I’ve been [a] patron for years,” Charles noted. The Prime Minister responded, “They do incredible work up and down the country.”

Since his diagnosis, many have asked to know what kind of cancer the monarch was diagnosed with, but the palace has been tight-lipped with the information. However, they made sure to note that his cancer diagnosis was not related to his treatment for an “enlarged prostate.”

An earlier statement read: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”

It continued, “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”

Besides the King, his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, has also sparked concern due to her disappearance from the public eye after undergoing abdominal surgery. Reports have since noted that Kate is “doing well” and will return to work when she has recovered.
