The Kardashians reportedly want Blac Chyna to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to cover the costs of the defamation trial that came to a close last month.
Per a report from TMZ on Tuesday, lawyers representing the Kardashians have filed paperwork detailing what they say are the various costs associated with the trial, which received heightened media attention earlier this year. The total reported costs (notably not including attorneys’ fees) stand at $391,094.76. Listed expenses include filing and motion fees (just over $5,000), deposition costs (more than $63,000), court reporter fees (nearly $20,000), and more.
The largest expense, however, is reported to be for “models, enlargements, and photocopies of exhibits” for the case, which the lawyers say amounted to nearly $185,000. As for next steps, It’ll be up to the court to determine whether this current figure is what Blac Chyna will be required to pay.
As previously reported, a jury ultimately handed the defendants—I.e. Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Khloé Kardashian—a victory in May with its determination that the family did not defame Chyna or work to get Rob & Chyna canceled. Chyna later alleged that the judge in the case had been “hostile” and “biased” against her and her lawyer.
Meanwhile, attention has more recently turned to Blac Chyna and Alysia Magen’s boxing match, which controversially ended in a draw this past weekend.
“Had so much fun fighting for Charity in my celebrity boxing match!!” Chyna later said of the match, which took place in Florida and was officiated by Rashad Evans.
