Kansas City has long loved their Chiefs, and are one of the most passionate fan bases in the NFL.
Now, with the relationship between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, the city has, and the fan base has fully gotten behind the pop megastar.
Taylor Swift immediately won fans over in Kansas City when she first showed up for a game at Arrowhead Stadium, all the way back in Week 3’s Chiefs win over the Chicago Bears.
It probably helped that, from the get-go, Taylor Swift seemed very much into what was happening on the field and wore Chiefs gear like she had been a fan her whole life.
That strong support has endeared her to the fans of the team, and that was proven when market ratings for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards that were held on Sunday came out on Monday.
There was a huge increase in viewership in the Kansas City market, even when the overall increase, which was significant, was taken into account.
The Grammys top TV market from last night was Kansas City, which posted a 13.6 rating. That’s up 86% from last year.
Kansas City clearly is the home TV market for Taylor Swift.

That’s a pretty huge number, basically bigger than anything that isn’t a football game in Kansas City. The city has no doubt rallied support around Taylor Swift.
They’ve seen her at twelve Chiefs games now, with the team going 9-3, including 3-0 in the playoffs. That means that Super Bowl LVIII will be her thirteenth game she’s attended. Thirteen is what Taylor Swift says is her lucky number. That seems like an encouraging sign to the Chiefs, if you believe in superstitions.
After winning two Grammy’s, including a record fourth Album of the Year, as well as announcing a new album, Swift is off to Japan for four sold-out shows before returning stateside to watch the Super Bowl in Las Vegas next Sunday.
