Julianne Hough will be taking on role as co-host of Dancing With The Stars when the show returns this fall.
The 34-year-old actress and dancer was also a judge and part of the pro dancer cast, too.
In a new interview, Julianne admitted that when she was initially offered a spot as a pro dancer, she turned it down and is opening up about why.

During her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week, Julianne told Kelly her reason why.
“Because I was like, ‘You know, I want to be a respected actress and singer. I don’t want to be on a competition show, you know, dancing,’” she shared. “I was like, you know, this is what I want to do. This is my path and then I was like, well I guess it’s kind of a good thing to be able to have that as my day job.”
Julianne was just 18 when she was offered the show.
She did end up joining the show after that initial turn down, and called it a life-changing decision.
“It was so wild. I mean, like overnight, I had just finished high school, basically and then I got on the show.”
Julianne won the mirrored-ball trophy twice: in season 4 with Apolo Anton Ohno (her debut season), and then in season 5 with Helio Castroneves.
