FOX Sports host Joy Taylor and her colleagues stunned fans after discussing a viral social media debate about dating and who should pay when going out.
The crew for the hit show FS1 Speak sent social media into a frenzy on Thursday after sharing their thoughts on whether men should split the check with their partner’s friends at dinner.
The hilarious non-sports related topic was asked to each panel member before the Fox Sports show started, and the reactions were shared on social media.
Taylor was joined by former NFL stars turned media members James Jones, LeSean McCoy, and Emmanuel Acho.
The question was: “If a man takes his girl out to dinner and she brings friends with her, is he required to pay for them?”
Jones, former WR for the Green Bay Packers, expressed that he felt he should pay if it is his wife’s friends.
But he also said he would have to talk to her about not doing that again on the car ride home.
“Next time, give those girls a memo to bring their own bread,” Jones said, laughing.
Acho tried to walk away and avoid the question after reading what it was before asking, “How many friends?”
He felt the party number mattered but would pay for two friends while disclosing he thought this question said “more about the girl than the guy.”

Taylor shared her perspective and highlighted that this is “not a conversation” around her friends and that they can pay for their own meals.
“You are not required to pay for anyone other than your girl.
“Your girl shouldn’t have friends who can’t afford to eat at the restaurant that they are at,” Taylor said.
She then took to social media, resharing the video on her Instagram story with the captions: “Yall go crazy over these convos.”
Taylor was right; the comments section for the video shared by Speak’s Instagram account was loaded with reactions from fans sharing their opinions.
“Not required….if those two friends can’t afford to pay, they need to stay at home,” this fan shared.
“With their salaries, it easy to say yes to this question,” another pointed out.
“Honestly, if WIFEY invites her friends, it’s OUR money anyway, so it’s whatever,” a third expressed.
“Your income dictates that decision…has nothing to do with being a man,” a fourth fan said.
Taylor responded to that message, agreeing with the fan, stating, “exactly like “required” absolutely not.”
Speak airs Monday-Friday at 4:30 pm ET on Fox Sports.
