John Schneider has garnered the ire of the BeyHive after comparing Beyoncé to a dog, marking her territory for her recent venture into country music.
Several fans slammed him as “racist and hateful” and commented that the singer does not need his permission to create country music.
What Did John Schneider Say About Beyoncé?
During the Super Bowl, Beyoncé introduced a new track, “Texas Hold ’em,” from her upcoming album, which is the second installment in the Renaissance trilogy. The song explores country music, representing an unusual genre shift for the Grammy Award-winning singer.
While numerous members of the BeyHive have embraced Beyoncé’s bold venture into country music, some individuals haven’t received it as warmly.
One such person is actor and singer John Schneider, 63, known for his role in the “Dukes of Hazzard.”

In an interview with the conservative network One American News (OAN), he likened Beyoncé to a dog attempting to leave its mark when asked about his views on musicians who explore various genres and are often associated with leftist perspectives.
“The lefties in the entertainment industry just won’t leave any area alone, right? They just have to seize control over every aspect, don’t they?” Schneider’s host had asked him.
The musician then responded, “They’ve got to make their mark, just like a dog in a dog walk park. You know, every dog has to mark every tree, right? So that’s what’s going on here.”
Beyoncé Fans Slammed John Schneider As ‘Racist And Hateful’
Social media erupted with outrage from the BeyHive in response to Schneider’s remark, with many expressing their disapproval and slamming his comment as “racist and hateful.”
One user commented, “Beyoncé can do whatever the f— she wants to do. She doesn’t need your permission, John Schneider.”
Another fan said, “Did John Schneider just compare Beyonce to a dog?? So Beyonce singing country songs makes her a dog?? WTF. And what do they mean by THEY have to make their mark like a dog in a dog walk park”..Disgusting and disrespectful because we created the genre. It’s our tree!!
Someone else remarked, “Ayo John Schneider, keep Beyonce’s name out of your f—– mouth.”
Another person added, “I actually kinda understand John Schneider’s bitterness towards Beyonce. Because his career has basically been mid since they put that Confederate-loving 69 Dodge Charger in the garage. And like the South, John Schneider’s career is unlikely to ever rise again… ”
One more individual, “John Schneider, shut the f— up challenge. I used to love this guy, but now he’s just a racist, right-wing extremist, just like the rest.”
A Local Station Was Slammed For Not Playing Beyoncé’s New Song
A local country music station, 100.1 KYKC, also garnered the ire of the BeyHiver when they refused to play the track after it was requested.
A fan took to social media to complain, claiming that they sent him an email that included the words, “We do not play Beyonce on KYKC as we are a country music station.” He also accused the station of racism.
However, the music station refuted the accusations of racism via a rep, saying that they are “owned by a minority-owned company” and they “play music if it’s good,” without caring “who it is or what they look like.”
The station also defended why they did not play the song, claiming that they were unaware of Beyoncé dropping a country song.
They said, “We honestly didn’t know she had dropped a “country” song, plus no distributor sent it to us. As soon as we finally got it, we added it to our playlist.”
Beyoncé’s Upcoming Album: ‘Renaissance: Act II’
Besides “Texas Hold’ Em,” Beyoncé also debuted another song from the album, “16 Carriages.”
The singer co-wrote “Texas Hold’ Em” with veteran R&B artist Raphael Saadiq, who also served as a co-producer of the song. Meanwhile, she collaborated with Robert Randolph on “16 Carriages.” The full album is slated for release on March 29, 2024.
Though Beyoncé has not officially titled the new album, many have referred to it as “Renaissance: Act II” because, in June 2022, the singer disclosed that her previous album “Renaissance” would be part of a three-act project.
“This three-act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic,” Beyoncé wrote in a post on her website at the time.
She added, “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving…. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”
