John Mulaney Clowned On Bill Belichick And Jordon Hudson

John Mulaney’s new Netflix late-night show Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney is, for lack of a better and efficient word, *insane*. Just this week, for example, he did a skit imagining the band Phish as Seinfeld and also announced he would be wrapping up season one by fighting — yes, literally fighting — three 14-year-old boys. Not quite the 100 dudes vs. a gorilla we’ve all been talking about, but still.

On the Thursday, May 1 episode of Everbody’s Live — the eighth of the season — that featured Molly Shannon, Marc Maron, Ronny Chieng, Maggie Rogers, and John Cale as guests, Mulaney worked in a barb at Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson.

Having his side kick, actor Richard King, playing the Belichick role — weird intentionally ripped-up sweatshirt and all — Everbody’s Live basically recreated Hudson’s viral moment in the CBS Sunday Morning interview in which she shut down a line of questioning about how the loving couple met.

Belichick’s disastrous interview with CBS has opened a massive can of worms as both he and CBS have issued conflicting statements in the wake of its release on Sunday.

The reactions to the insight into Belichick’s relationship with Hudson have been wide-ranging. University of North Carolina officials are reportedly now worried about the situation. Belichick’s friend Charles Barkley says he plans on reaching out to him because he’s concerned. Former Patriots players such as Benjamin Watson and Damien Woody have criticized the 73-year-old for becoming the exact thing he spent decades ‘brainwashing’ (Woody’s words) his players to avoid: becoming a distraction to the team.

It should be an interesting football season in Chapel Hill, to say the least.
