Jessie James Decker Opens Up, “I’ve Been Struggling Emotionally”

Jessie James Decker is a woman with many hats — wife, mom of three, country music artist, founder of Kittenish, cookbook writer, “Dancing With the Stars” contestant.. the list goes on and on.

In trying to balance everything she has going on in life, the 34-year-old is becoming vulnerable with fans and is opening up about her mental health.

Jessie James Decker is currently competing on this season of “Dancing With the Stars,” while still performing her shows and being a mother to her three children — daughter Vivianne Rose, 7, and sons Eric “Bubby” Thomas II, 6, and Forrest Bradley, 3.

While trying to manage everything going on, the “Should Have Known Better” singer is being real with her fans, opening up with how much she is struggling.

“Not gonna lie, I’ve been struggling emotionally this week,” Decker wrote in an Instagram Story. “Missing my babies and Eric so much and feeling so out of my element missing Tennessee.”

Although admitting to having her struggles, Decker went on to try and look on the bright side of things. “But the sun is shining extra today and being able to lean on my partner, Alan, was just what I needed to power through!,” she continued.

The next episode of “Dancing With the Stars” airs Monday, and Decker can’t wait to show her fans what they have in store. “Monday is almost here and I am so proud of this dance and the hard work we’ve put in,” she wrote in her Instagram Story.

On the premiere episode of the reality competition show, Decker and her partner, Alan Bersten danced the cha-cha to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s 1974 classic “Sweet Home Alabama.”

“Work on your legs, and get stronger leg action,” judge Len Goodman told her. “Racier than the Kentucky Derby,” Bruno Tonioli said laughing.

The 34-year-old singer received a score of 20 out of 40. “I really want to be here,” Decker told host Alfonso Ribeiro. “But, I’m a mom first. It’s been hard, but I’m up for the challenge,” she added.

After the show premiered, Decker took to Instagram to express her gratitude. “Wow this has been one of the craziest weeks of my life!!! ,” she wrote. “Learning this dance in a week was such a challenge. I completely stepped out of my comfort zone and attempted to do something that scared the u know what out of me – and on live TV lol.”

The “Boys in the Summer” singer continued, “Woke up smiling this morning feeling so proud of overcoming my ear and seeing how many of y’all voted and had our backs! Even though I was the most nervous and anxious I have ever been I went out there and gave it my all and I’m proud of that. I couldn’t have done it without the best partner @alanbersten who’s already like fam to us!! Alan we got this!!”

Jessie James Decker avoided being eliminated and will dance again Monday night when the show airs its Elvis-themed night on Disney+.
