Jessica Lowndes is throwing punches and showing off her rock hard abs. In a new social media post the 90210 star flaunts her amazing midsection in boxing shorts and a crop top during a boxing session for her music video. “BTS of the #RIGHTNOW video 🥊 REMIX coming verrry 🔜,” she captioned the post adding a quote from Muhammad Ali: “You dont lose if you get knocked down; you lose if you stay down.” How does the actress-slash-singer approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.Â
Jessica tries to maintain a balanced diet. “I live a healthy lifestyle and I crave healthy food,” she told Cosmo UK. “I love porridge, I have bizarre cravings for it. I love it with brown sugar and bananas, and I’m a huge fan of cinnamon – I put cinnamon on everything.” While she has “a sweet tooth” she doesn’t “like to deprive myself,” she continued. “I think everything in moderation is the key.” Her favorite dinner is salmon and beetroot salads, “but any kind of grilled fish with veggies is amazing,” she says.Â
Jessica relies on strength training to stay in shape. However, “a lot of the time” she is “on location or living out of a suitcase,” and doesn’t have full-one time to do a session. “So basically all I do is sit-ups, push-ups and jumping jacks (or star-jumps as you call them!) lunges and the plank, and you repeat it five times,” she told Cosmo UK. “I love circuit training where you can do five exercises, 15-20 reps of each exercise, and I do it five times in a row – it only takes twenty minutes, and you can do it anywhere. You feel instantly better.”
Jessica drinks “a lot of water – it speeds up your metabolism, makes everything run smoothly, and it makes your skin glow,” she told Cosmo. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
Jessica, “a pretty active person” that is “always on the go,” also gets in her zen zone with the help of a workout. “I love yoga,” she said. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” says Harvard Health about why yoga is a great workout. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”
Jessica trains with professionals. “If I’m in LA and have time, I love going to the gym and I work with different trainers, so it’s something I’ve just picked up,” she said.
