Initially, the Chicago native was holding her own against her competitors, Michael Menkhus and Ittai Sopher.

Tamara had $11.1K when the Daily Double rolled around.

The editor waged $7K of her earnings on the difficult trivia clue from the Jeopardy! category Silent Consonant Words.

“Relevant or suitable, it comes from the French phrase meaning “to the purpose,” was the clue Ken Jennings, 49, read.

Tamara repeated the end part of the clue to herself as she struggled to solve it.

She was unable to answer the question within the allotted time, resulting in her getting buzzed out.

Ken revealed that the answer was apropos.

In a fit of anger, Tamara hit her buzzer aggressively.

She dropped to $4.1K after she could not provide the correct answer within the time limit.

Tamara struggled to regain the ground she lost; however, she was able to earn a few more thousand dollars, going into Final Jeopardy! with $8.5K.

LOSING BIG

Of course, that wasn’t enough to land her the victory.

Michael was crowned tonight’s winner, coming in first place with $20.8K and advancing to the Champions Wildcard Semi-Finals Tournament.

Tamara finished in second place with $8.5K, and Ittai was in third with $6,001.

‘WELL PLAYED’

Tamara’s mini-meltdown was focused on in a thread on Reddit.

“Ugh. Tamara was one of my favorites. All three were great though. A match I didn’t want to see anyone lose,” one fan commented in the forum.

Another admitted: “Well played to all three of them. I feel bad for Tamara…”

Tamara took to X, fka Twitter, in an effort to quiet the comments revolving around her losing her cool.

“My brain: “It’s not silent, it’s French!” #jeopardy #apropos,” she explained.

FIRST VICTORY

Tamara didn’t always get stumped on Jeopardy!

During her debut appearance on the show in March 2023, she and players Michael Murphy, and Alec Chao faced a difficult Final Jeopardy round.

Going into the last phase of the episode, Tamara was in the lead with $11,800.

Not far behind was Michael with $7,200 and then Alec with an even $7,000.

Ken introduced the Final Jeopardy topic: symbols.

He then revealed the question: “In math, it’s a rotated V; In society, it’s a feeling of some marginalized or underrepresented people.”

Each contestant had 30 seconds to submit their best guess with Ken, TK, looking to Michael for an answer first.

He guessed: “What is subdivision?” and lost $6,601 for being incorrect.

Alec, who moved into second place with $7,800, guessed: “What is inequality?”

He wagered and lost $4,801, bringing his winning for the day down to $2,999.

Tamara guessed: “What is less than?” which was, apparently, the right answer.

She added $1,801 to her total earnings, walking away with $15,601.
