Jeon Somi is a very successful singer. She was a part of the group, I.O.I, before going solo. In November, she shared a look at her rehearsals with her fans on Instagram. Being a performer means that Somi has to learn choreography. Better Health states that dance has a lot of benefits. “Dancing can be a way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes and sizes. It has a wide range of physical and mental benefits including: improved condition of your heart and lungs, increased muscular strength, endurance and motor fitness, increased aerobic fitness, improved muscle tone and strength, weight management, stronger bones and reduced risk of osteoporosis.”

As you can see in the Instagram post, Somi likes to run. McKenzie Health states that running has a lot of benefits. “Since running is a weight-bearing exercise, it helps keep your bones stronger as you age. What you may be surprised to hear, however, is that running is also good for your joints. Many people think running wreaks havoc on joints, but it may actually strengthen joints and the muscles around them, making it less likely you’ll have arthritis.

According to this Instagram post, Somi likes to go biking. Harvard Health states that biking has a lot of health benefits. “Health benefits include improved cardiovascular fitness, stronger muscles, greater coordination and general mobility, and reduced body fat. As with other types of exercise, it can also help improve mental health by lowering stress levels and stimulating feel-good endorphins.”

In this CNN interview, Somi revealed that she practices taekwondo. According to MSMAP, taekwondo has a lot of benefits. “Obvious benefits are seen almost immediately with improved balance/posture, flexibility, strength, coordination, and aerobic fitness. These characteristics are essential for taekwondo success. Longer term benefits include the ability to apply these characteristics to other activities. For example, using a baseball bat for power or percentage; swinging a golf club or tennis racket well; or, handling a soccer ball through several defenders.”

Somi likes to do Pilates to stay in shape. She shared this TikTok of herself doing exercises. The Cleveland Clinic states that Pilates has a lot of health benefits. “One of the reasons Pilates is such a good workout is that it specifically focuses on building core strength. Having a strong, aligned core makes it easier to have good posture — a seemingly small change that can positively impact many areas of your life.”
