Industry sources and insiders are practically climbing over each other to pile on Jennifer Lopez, with the latest reports from those allegedly in the know indicating that Lopez apparently doesn’t allow regular people to make eye contact with her.
In a new report from The Daily Mail, it’s stated that “industry insiders claim Jennifer Lopez also has a bizarre ‘no eye contact rule’ while dealing with crew members or hired help.”
“‘A friend of ours worked lighting backstage at one of her concerts. All of the workers were strictly instructed: DO. NOT.LOOK. AT. MS. LOPEZ. There’s to be NO. EYE. CONTACT,’ one online user alleged.”
“Another user had a similar tale, claiming: ‘I knew people who worked at Mohegan Sun and they were instructed to totally avoid eye contact with J Diva.’” [via The Daily Mail]
The Daily Mail article contains a handful of other alleged examples of Lopez’s purported ‘no eye contact’ rule, including one that claims a limo driver was also subjected to this sort of treatment.
“‘Per my insider friend, her limo drivers were instructed the same, they couldn’t even look at her in their rearview mirrors,’ they alleged.”
Lopez has been one of the most talked-about celebrities in the world this year, but not for the reasons she’d hope.
Earlier this year, Lopez released her new album This Is Me… Now to subpar reviews. Then, she was forced to cancel a handful of August tour dates due to low ticket sales. Then, in late May, the entirety of the tour was shelved, with Lopez claiming the decision was made so she can spend more time with her family.
Her family, however, is also enduring some turmoil, as reports indicate that she and her husband Ben Affleck are heading for a divorce after just two years of marriage. Earlier this month, it was reported that the pair had put their $60 million Beverly Hills home up for sale.
Even if Lopez and Affleck’s personal relationship is coming to an end (again), their professional partnership still has a ways to go as Affleck’s production company Artists Equity, which he founded with longtime friend Matt Damon, is producing both of Lopez’s next two films: Unstoppable, which is about one-legged champion wrestler Anthony Robles, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.
