Jennifer Lopez was in attendance at the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night and made some headlines for what some people believe was dismissive treatment of the event’s photographers.
A video of Lopez being curt with the photographers lining the Met Gala red carpet has gone viral in recent days as fans believe the pop star and actress is “finally deciding to own her mean girlness in public,” according to one commenter.
“F— these celebrities for real,” said the caption of the video that went viral on TikTok, seen below.
It’s been a rough start to 2024 for Lopez as the underwhelming reviews and sales of her new album This Is Me… Now were then followed up by her having to cancel tour dates due to low ticket sales.
As one plugged-in Hollywood insider put it, Lopez is learning that she was “never as big as she was in her own mind.”
“This is super embarrassing,” The Town podcast host Matthew Beloni said of Lopez’s tour. “I asked a big music industry person, like, ‘What the hell is going on with J-Lo?’ The response was she way overshot… She was never as big as she was in her own mind. This is a sad situation.”
The first trailer for her new Netflix movie Atlas was also recently clowned on for looking like A.I created it.
In addition to Atlas, Lopez has two upcoming films in the works: the biographical sports drama about one-legged wrestler Anthony Robles titled Unstoppable, and the musical drama Kiss of the Spider Woman, an adaptation of the stage play of the same name, alongside Diego Luna.
