Jason Sudeikis and Travis Kelce were in attendance at the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in Kansas City over the weekend and the Ted Lasso star used the opportunity to both poke fun at Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift and roast controversial Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker in the process.
Sudeikis and Kelce, performing their own version of Saturday Night Live’s classic Bill Swerski ski, were also joined on stage by Robert Smigel and George Wendt.
The former SNL star man, dressed as a rabid Chicago sports fan in a Michael Jordan jersey, was chatting with Kelce about when he’s going to propose to Taylor Swift when he improvised an incredible burn of Harrison Butker, who made headlines last month for saying that the ultimate pursuit of women should be being a “homemaker.”
“Travis, real talk, okay, just the guys here — When are you going to make an honest woman out of her?” Sudeikis asked. “Taylor doesn’t need to be working anymore and, again, I know your kicker agrees with me. He gets it.”
While giving the commencement speech at Benedictine College in Kansas in early May, Butker’s speech became one of the biggest stories of the NFL offseason due to the nature of his language, in which he called being a “homemaker” the “most important title of all.”
“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you,” Butker said.
“How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”
According to their official website, Big Slick — which began in 2010 and was born out of an idea by Rob Riggle — is a fundraising event in Kansas City where “every dollar raised goes directly to Children’s Mercy to advance Big Slick’s goal of eradicating pediatric cancer.”
