JANET Jackson risks a run-in with the law by wearing three-inch platform shoes while driving during a shopping Escapade.
The 5ft 4ins Miss You Much singer wore a pair of £775 Alexander Wang Storm Chelsea Boots as she got behind the wheel of a Range Rover.
Jackson, 57, sister of King of Pop Michael, was perusing posh stores this week with an assistant in Chelsea, west London.
Her chunky rubber heels measure 3.3 inches (85mm) – yet the RAC warns soles thicker than 0.4 inches (10mm) are unsuitable for driving.
It may not be illegal but Rule 97 of The Highway Code states drivers should wear shoes which don’t “prevent you using the controls in the correct manner”.
If deemed to be the cause of a crash, motorists could be charged with driving without due care and attention, resulting in a potential £100 fine and three licence points.
Louise Thomas, motor insurance expert at comparison website confused.com, said: “If your clothing or footwear restricts your movement you could find that it impacts your driving.”
The youngest of the Jackson siblings is a five-time Grammy Award winner and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She held talks last year to turn her life into a biopic.
A source said the potential mim-series would “document Janet’s privileged yet difficult beginnings, rise to stardom and her relationship with her brother Michael Jackson“.
The younger sister of late legend Michael has sold an astonishing 100 million records.
The singer last performed to UK fans at the 2019 Glastonbury Festival in a crammed 50-minute slot, but before that it was a three-night run at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011.
