In an Instagram post made on Sunday, the 29-year-old actress revealed that longtime boyfriend Joseph Hooten had finally popped the question. The post was a carousel of a series of black and white photos of the newly engaged couple from the beautiful proposal.

One photo showed Corinne and Hooten smiling and hugging happily on the deck of the boat where he proposed. The caption read, “From the first time I saw you, I knew you were my forever.” Another photo showed Corinne kissing Hooten on the cheek, and the next photo showed them hugging as the former Beat Shazam host looked at the camera.

Corinne was extremely private about her relationship with Hooten, so it’s unclear when exactly they started dating. However, the couple attended the University of Southern California and reportedly met for the first time in 2018.

Corinne Foxx Has Been Private About Their Relationship

Corinne first revealed their romance in a September 2019 Instagram post. The post showed her and Hooten smiling brightly at a horse stable, and the caption read, “Spent the weekend with a couple of studs.”

After that, the TV personality made a few posts sharing news about their relationship. One Instagram post from October was a highlight of her activities in September and featured multiple shots of Hooten as part of her month. Another photo showed the couple dressed up formally and smiling lovingly at one another.

Hooten himself is an extremely private person who seemingly doesn’t have an Instagram account. However, a Coverfly profile revealed that he’s an award-winning writer-director and television executive currently employed at John Wells Productions. The profile reads that Hooten is very “passionate about telling emotional, provocative stories about socio-economic classism.”

Corinne and Hooten’s engagement comes months after she revealed to the world that her father, Jamie Foxx, had suffered a major medical complication. On April 12th, Corinne issued a statement on behalf of the Foxx family on Instagram, saying that Jamie had suffered the still unnamed health crisis but had received emergency medical attention.

The statement read, “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

The entire Foxx family remained secretive about the nature of Foxx’s health crisis, only revealing for weeks that he was in recovery. Corinne later gave fans another update on her father’s health, saying he’d been released from the hospital and was fully “recuperating.”
