During her recent publicity tour for her new memoir Worthy, Jada Pinkett has been going above and beyond to humiliate her partner (?) Will Smith with various private revelations about their relationship.

In addition to revealing that, among other things, the pair have been separated for seven years, that she thought Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars was a skit, and that Rock apparently asked her out, Jada Pinkett has now disclosed that she was “shocked” that Smith called her his wife during that infamous moment at the Academy Awards.

Smith, of course,  infamously walked on stage at the 2022 Oscars and hit comedian Chris Rock in the face with an open-handed slap after the latter made a joke about Pinkett’s shaved head.

“First of all, I’m really shocked, because mind you, I’m not there. We haven’t called each other husband and wife in a long time,” Pinkett says in an interview with Hoda Kotb for NBC News.

“I’m like, ‘What is going on right now? Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth?’ I’m really worried for Will because I don’t know what’s going on.”

Since Smith slapped Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards, the 55-year-old has appeared in just one film, AppleTV+’s middling Emancipation. He’s also currently signed on to star in a fourth Bad Boys film, which is set to release in movie theaters next year.

Other than that, however, Smith has largely laid low other than a handful of Instagram posts and interviews.
