Isn’t It About Time to See a Stan Lee Biopic?

There’s already been talk of creating a biopic on the life of Stan Lee, but as of yet, nothing has made it to the screen. Whether it’s the big screen or the small screen, though, this is a guy that deserves to have his story told in a fun and engaging manner. Who might be capable of taking on his role, though, is kind of hard to say since there are a few worthy actors that might make it happen, and there’s a good idea that he’ll need to be depicted from one era to another since his influence over the Marvel Universe has been great enough that trying to pinpoint just a few moments wouldn’t be enough. Of course, that’s likely what’s going to happen since biopics don’t tend to last more than a couple of hours on average, which is nowhere near enough time to detail the life of a person that’s been as loved and as important as Stan Lee was during his time on this earth.

There does need to be a balance in his life between the good and the bad.

Stan Lee wasn’t a saint all his life, and it’s been noted in more than one article that there were issues between him and other individuals in the industry at one time or another. It might not satisfy some folks, but there is a need to see Stan as a human being and not just an icon that has been held up in the MCU for years and Marvel movies for longer. Showing that he had his issues at times would be beneficial since it would make clear that he was not perfect, but he did the best that he could, and he managed to inspire a lot of people over the course of his life. That alone is worthy of praise, but trying to find moments that will show when he messed up and when he was more or less just another human being is just as important.

His role in Marvel Comics is no doubt going to be highlighted in a few different ways.

This should be a giant ‘duh’ moment since his career with Marvel Comics is one of the biggest highlights of his life, and as such, it would be great to see how this evolved. There’s no doubt that many people would like to see his beginning and how he came to be one of the most important names in the comic book industry, but it almost feels as though a biopic should be able to gloss over this a bit and move forward in a manner that allows the time he spent helping to develop Marvel to become a priority. Learning more about the man that’s been written and published and pored over by thousands of fans is all well and good since it sets a proper base for a story like this, but trying to focus on why he’s been so important to Marvel would probably go a long way when it comes to drawing in the fans so that they can fully enjoy this movie.

The biopic could even shine a light on how some Marvel characters came to be.

There’s an origin to every character in the Marvel Universe, and it often stretches beyond what’s on paper since the inspiration for each member of this universe came from somewhere. To find out how a few of these characters were thought up would be interesting, even if it’s possible that there might be a few incorrect moments that make it into the feature. One has to assume that not everything put on the screen is going to be one hundred percent accurate, but a lot of it could be turned into something fun that might have roots in reality that people can find with a little research. It would also be worth it to see how Stan Lee interacted with a number of other artists and storytellers that have come and gone over the years, along with some of the greatest legends the comic industry has ever seen. Jack Kirby would undoubtedly be one of the best names to see in a movie like this.

How long we have to wait is anyone’s guess.

There might be a script that’s being thought up right now, or it could be that there’s no idea how to create a comprehensive script that might encapsulate the life of a man who is looked at as a legend in his industry and someone who is sorely missed at this time. Some people manage to see a biopic of their lives before they’re gone, but others will have already passed away before the story of their life is told. In any case, it feels as though it’s past due to tell of Stan Lee’s life.

It’s a story that’s worth telling.
