YouTube star IShowSpeed has issued a response after receiving a temporary ban on the platform for filming himself jumping over a Lamborghini and McLaren supercar back-to-back.
IShowSpeed is one of the top names in the live streaming game, in no small part thanks to his over-the-top antics like setting off fireworks in his bedroom and jumping over oncoming cars.
In fact, hurdling over speeding sports cars is one of his signature moves. After leaping over his Cristiano Ronaldo-themed Lambo in July, he decided to do it again in August — this time following it up with a McLaren in a back-to-back, death-defying test of skill.
Although his endeavor was successful (and went extremely viral), his feat of athleticism might not have been in line with YouTube’s moderation policies.
On the night of August 5, Speed’s editor posted a screenshot of their creator dashboard to Twitter/X, revealing that they’d received an Active Community Guidelines strike on their channel.
On August 6, IShowSpeed himself published a video with a message to his community, acknowledging that he’d been hit with a temporary channel ban.
“Hey guys, if y’all are watching this right now, I’m banned on YouTube on my main channel,” Speed explained. “I cannot stream or do anything, guys. I just wanted to let y’all know. I love y’all, bro.”
At the time of writing, it’s been reported that the ban is only on Speed’s main YouTube channel, and will supposedly last for two weeks. While viewers can still navigate to his channel and watch past videos, his live stream with the supercar stunt has been deleted, and he cannot stream or upload content for the duration of his ban.
This punishment comes right at the height of Speed’s current live streaming endeavors, following his viral trip across Europe that saw hordes of fans crowd the broadcaster in cities like Amsterdam and Oslo.
Although he’s back in the States for now, he’s already making plans for another livestreamed trip across Southeast Asia, as well as the Middle East at a later date.
For now, Speed’s main channel will be taking a break, leaving fans anxious for his eventual return.
